Project Description: The Glenwood Power Plant is approximately 4.7 acres of the 150 Acre Brownfield Opportunity Area along the Yonkers waterfront in an Environmental Zone running along the shoreline of the Hudson River. Two power stations were constructed by the New York Central in 1906 – one on the Harlem Division at Port Morris (the Harlem had a short branch to Port Morris at the time), and another in the Glenwood section of Yonkers on the Hudson Division. In 2008 the Preservation League of New York designated the Glenwood Power Station as one of the 7 most endangered sites in the state of New York.
